Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country.
MUN teaches participants skills like research, public speaking, debating, and writing, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and helps students develop confidence in leading others, and a stronger awareness of global issues.
This year, the twenty-two students of the 4A Cosmopole class held their first IMUN conference on ‘Natural Disasters’. The students/delegates representing 11 countries debated on disaster relief funding, disaster prediction and prevention, and the costs of reconstuction. They also looked at the causes of natural disasters: between natural, human-made and human-accelerated.
Congratulations to the students for the enthusiasm and motivation making our first College Fenelon MUN conference a great success.
